Things We'll Miss About Toronto

Hmmnn, we arrived here April 1, 2007, for a one-week visit. It is over a year later and we're still here. Granted, we decided it would be practical to stay here for Taylor's birth, but wow, it surely has been a long visit.

During our accelerated accommodation search (thanks goodness for Craig's List!), we decided a cramped downtown location would be better than a suburban place. Well, we may have taken the cramped part too far. At 750 sq ft, our tiny home doesn't have a square foot to spare. No worries; we've managed to make this work for the past year. Although the summer and fall months, when we could make use of the patio, were certainly less cramped then the winter.

Ok, there are some things that we're really going to miss about Toronto when we move back to Seattle...
The Healthy Butcher
After almost a decade of a meat diet of poultry and seafood, my pregnancy dictated change. I craved beef, eagerly experimented with lamb and bison, and even enjoyed a couple of cuts of caribou. The Healthy Butcher's organic products and displays could easily convert a vegetarian.

Walking
Compared to Seattle, Toronto is made for walking. Although public transit is fabulous, the city is made for walking.

Things That Won't be Missed:
Brutal Winter Weather
Near record-breaking snowfall and frigid temperatures kept the three of us cocooning for most of the winter.

The Funk: The foul stench of the pig abattoir that bubbled up once a week.
